Acting Though Make Believe Is No More Just Superficial

With the number of films in all genres being released in Bollywood and other film industries trying to come up to par, there is a continuous stream of youngsters and older people vying for a share of the pie of the glam world. This has given rise to a number of acting schools and workshops that are sprouting all over the country and more so in the city of Mumbai which is known as the capital of the country in all aspects glamour and finance.

However, the world of cinema has been growing and the demands of the viewing public also have undergone a sea change. This means that film acting training has evolved to a new level. It has not just been a song and dance sequence or an out and out fight oriented product. These days even the best acting school has to continuously pull up its socks to give something new to its students in the way of teaching the finer nuances of the industry.

A new trend that has been capturing the viewer-ship numbers and has set industry standards is the TRP guzzling TV soaps and reality shows. In this domain too, there is a continuously rising level of competition. More and more people are being exposed to the glamour world through film and TV acting training workshops and academies. It is this competition that urges the new comers to come up to the mark of the ones that are already there. In the same vein, the ones who are already in have that inner urge to keep bettering their performances as well as expand their horizons. This helps them not just to snare newer projects of different genres, but also to explore newer avenues like the small screen.

However, there is one thing that even the best acting schools may not be able to force feed their wards and trainees. That is the aspect of temperament. It is one thing that comes from either an innate understanding or through years of experience in the industry. However, it is an accepted fact that film acting institutes are a great way to enter the world of glamour without the perpetual struggle that one may have to face without the guidance.

Deepika Padukone Attends GQ Men of The Year Awards Amitabh Bachchan’s Birthday Bash

Former Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar model and actor Deepika Padukone has been grabbing headlines for her eye-catching appearance at the recent GQ Men of the Year Awards. Born in Denmark, Deepika was an established model before Farah Khan selected her to star opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the 2007 blockbuster Om Shanti Om. Clad in a flattering scarlet lace Gaurav Gupta gown at the recent event, Deepika managed to make several heads turn with her mermaid-cut outfit, without coming off as an overkill of red! Dressed to kill and beautiful as ever, Deepika rushed to greet and seek the blessings of veteran actor and Bollywood bigwig Amitabh Bachchan who also made an appearance at the event.

Deepika also made an appearance at Amitabh Bachchan’s 70th birthday bash. Wearing a black and gold Rohit Bal Anarkali dress, the actor looked stunning and gorgeous and went on to wish Mr. Bachchan on his special day. Also present at the event were Dharma Productions chief Karan Johar, Bunty Bachchan, Yash Chopra, Anil Ambani and Javed Akhtar amongst other big-screen actors and celebrities including Vinod Khanna, Hema Malini, Pran, Jeetendra, Waheeda Rehman, Prem Chopra, Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor with wife Neetu.

Speaking about her role in Aarakshan in which she played the daughter of Mr. Bachchan’s character, Deepika said, “Once you play father and daughter in a film (as they did in Aarakshan), you always share a bond for life. I remember the first guests at my new flat were Jayaji and Amitji. Jayaji spoke to me about my film and told me that I reminded her of her daughter.” A year ago, Amitabh Bachchan graced Ms. Padukone’s housewarming party. Also, the young actor was extremely pleased to have worked with one of Bollywood’s most recognized personalities, Amitabh Bachchan. Quoting Deepika Padukone, “He (Amitabh Bachchan) made me very, very comfortable. However, even as the camera is rolling and you are mouthing your dialogues, you are constantly wondering if he is judging your performance. Really, it is indeed a big deal to be actually looking into his eyes and mouthing your dialogues. Trust me, it isn’t easy.” Though nervous about sharing screen-space alongside Mr. Bachchan, Deepika Padukone managed to pull off her role in the film extremely well. The two actors have been known to share a special bond ever since the film. Directed by Prakash Jha, the film had Amitabh Bachchan play Dr. Prabhakar Anand while Deepika Padukone starred as his daughter, Poorbi.
